True Love
Summary: Essay discusses the aspect of true love in Shakespeare's "Much Ado about Nothing."
In the Shakespearean play, Much Ado About Nothing, it is apparent through the mannerisms and language of the characters, that love and trust in one another, are the two most vital components of a relationship. Throughout the course of the play, the three key couples that come across obstacles in their courtships are Claudio and Hero, Margaret and Borachio and Beatrice and Benedick. Firstly, Claudio and Hero and Margaret and Borachio's relationships lack trust, which in turn leads them down unwanted paths in their relationships. Secondly, complete and utter false hatred towards one another, lead Beatrice and Benedick only to develop their courtship near the end of the play, after eavesdropping on their trustworthy companions. In the play Much Ado About Nothing, Shakespeare tried to convey to his readers that relationships are dependant on trust and love, not slander and deception.
