Analysis of Socrates' Quote "Wisdom Begins in Wonder"
Summary: My essay is about one of Socrates' most famous quotes, "Wisdom begins in wonder."
Socrates was born in Athens in 469 and died in 399 with many followers, companions, and listeners who were always keenly interested in conversation and debate with Socrates. Near the middle of his life Socrates relinquished his profession as statuary, and committed himself to the career that would make him famous. Socrates, despite writing none of his works down, has become one of the most celebrated and well known Greek philosophers ever.
Socrates has many famous quotes that are frequently used due to a man named Plato, who wrote down many of Socrates' dialogues. Some well known quotes are "Know thyself", "Wisdoms begins in Wonder", and "I know I am intelligent because I know that I know nothing." The quote that I selected which pertains to my life is "wisdom begins in wonder." My definition of this quote is that wonder leads to questions such as: why...? and what...". Then...
