Summary: Essay consists of a summary of the War of 1812 in America.
Some of the reasons leading to the War of 1812 are that Great Britain didn't want our American ships to be trading with France since France and Britain were at war with each other. Also what the British would do is seize American ships and remove the cargo. The British would also capture the American sailors and force to serve the British Navy. Also the British would encourage the Native Americans to attack settlers in the Northwest Territory. France would also stop American sailors and remove cargo but not as often as the British. Thomas Jefferson and congress had passed the Embargo Act which did not permit US ships to trade with France, Great Britain, and any other European countries.
