As one of the wealthiest and largest congressional districts in the nation, the Eleventh Congressional District of Michigan grants much prestige to whom ever represents the district. As of the 108th Congress, Representative Thaddeus McCotter of Livonia Michigan presides over the Eleven District. This seat will be on the ballot in the November 2004 elections and Thaddeus McCotter will run for his second term as a representative. Both the Democrats and the Republicans have shown interest in this congressional seat for the 2004 elections by contributing support from both parties' Presidential candidates. Through out the past ten years, the Eleventh District has not only grown in population, but also in power and influence in Congress.
After re-zoning from the 2000 Census, the Eleventh District has decreased in size but, increased in population because of the rapid move towards the Novi, Wixom area, this trend is the exact opposite to the remaining...
