Types of Immunities
Inborn immunity is inherited along with other characteristics in a person's genes.There are some types, for example. Species Immunity: specific immunity to a disease such as measles, scarlet fever and influenza that could only affect humans. Population Immunity: When a group of people have a greater resistance to a disease. Some groups appear to have a greater inborn immunity to certain diseases than others.
Individual Immunity: immunity to a specific disease.
The other type of immunity is called acquired immunity. It could either be acquired artificially or naturally. Acquired immunity develops after birth during a person's lifetime as that person encounters various specific harmful agents. The two types are: Naturally acquired and Artificially acquired.
