Summary: This essay is a comparison between the story "Le Morte d'Arthur" and the movie "First Knight."
This essay is a comparison essay about the character behavior of King Arthur, Queen Gwynevere, and Sir Launcelot in Sir Thomas Mallory's story "Le Morte d'Arthur" and in Jerry Zucker's movie First Knight. Although both are good versions of the stories that they represent, they do portray the characters differently and also take some other liberties.
The first character that I will examine is that of King Arthur. In Sir Malory's story, King Arthur is depicted as a weak man who is easily influenced by the will of his nephew, Sir Gawain, and eager to go off and fight a war. This is one of the reasons that his bastard son, Sir Mordred is able to lead a revolt against the crown while King Arthur is fighting Sir Launcelot in France.
