Summary: This is my opinion about how the United States and Canada handled the situation of "Black Hawk Down."
The United Nation is mainly made up of First World Countries, since they are the ones who are advancing in population, economic, technology, etc. They work together to provide help and aid for Fifth World Countries, Fourth World Countries, and so on. So as a member of this organization (ex. United States of America, Canada, etc.), it was only expected that they participated in this United Nations attempt to maintain peace and prevent the mass starvation that had erupted in Somalia and across East Africa. Not to mention in the movie "Black Hawk Down" American soldiers where portrayed as heroes as they were leaving the hostile area and entering the United Nation's military base. Another example is the war in Iraq, the United States wanted to remove Saddam Hussein from power but in the long run they will be helping out the people of Iraq who were tormented...
