The Universal Balance of Good and Evil
Summary: An essay discussing the universal balance of good and evil based on the novel "Lord of the Flies" and real life events.
Is human nature generally good or evil? Human nature is generally good. No matter the circumstance people come together. The only resisting factor is the balance of good people and bad or evil people. People have strength in numbers.
In the novel "Lord of The Flies" you see the evil out way the good. Here you see that ignorance can create this off balance effect. Jack and his companions never take a moment to think about getting off the island. Ralph on the other hand only thinks about safety, being rescued, order, and organization. Jack wants to hunt, so do all the other children except for a select few (Piggy, Simon, Samneric) who are either killed or forced to follow Jack. This novel displays a poor example of human nature being predominantly evil because it deals with children, ignorant children who have much to learn.
