Point of View

The book is written in a 3rd person omniscient point of view. This means that pronouns such as "I" and "you" are seldom used when someone is not talking. As the story goes on, it follows the track and life-style of Francesca Louise Dietrich. It all takes place in New York, during the mid-1970. Francesca's, who likes to go by Kessa, anorexic personality takes over her.

Fiction

This novel, by Steven Levenkron is realistic fiction. Unfortunately, too many girls and boys of today's youth are becoming anorexic. This being so, it's a lot easier for Levenkron to write about this topic. Levenkron, being a doctor is this field, knows a lot about the psychological and physical parts of this disease.
