The tombs of the old kingdom nobles not only showed modern historians the life of the rich and powerful back in Ancient Egypt, but it also reveals a lot about the daily life of the poorer people of ancient Egypt. In her book "How People lived", Dr Ann Millard quotes that "The noblemen in Egypt decorated their tombs with paintings of daily life", thus historians learn a great deal of how the Egyptians used to live. We learn a great deal about the ancient Egyptians from their art in the tombs of the nobles. The paintings and relief's are still fresh and colourful because they have been sealed for thousands of years.
