Summary: This essay describes President Wilson's tactics in being a president. In addition, it speaks in favor of Wilson and provides support.
I believe that President Wilson was a great president. My reasoning for this is that he consistently fought for peace in the world. A famous slogan from his first run as president was "He kept us out of war." However, Germany began to open free submarine warfare, killing Americans on foreign ships. Therefore, Wilson declared war in order to put a stop to these hateful acts. Regardless that Wilson just declared war; he continued to speak for peace. For example, he traveled to Paris to develop the Treaty of Versailles. Existing as one of the stronger powers of the Allies, Wilson attempted to make his "Fourteen Points" plan well known. However, the other members of the Allied group spoke against Fourteen Points. In conclusion, the end result was a compromise between these ideas on how to punish Germany for their destruction.
