Summary: Essay briefly discusses the Alamo.
In 1836 the Texas region was still a territory of Mexico. A Fortification that had seen its share of battles was soon going to be used again. The Alamo was used once again for Texans who wanted to make a stand for independence.

The Alamo was a sprawling fort that was used as a barracks. A ruthless dictator would lead the Mexicans into battle against the Alamo. General Santa Anna was his name. Santa Anna was vein and worked his way up to his position by ways of switching back and forth. He called himself the Napoleon of the west. He had closed ports and raised Tariffs. Many despised him.
