In our society there are many other forms of authority besides the law. Even though the authority of law is the only one we are bound to listen to, it is not the only one we listen to. We choose to listen to other types of authority. One type of other authority is religious authority figures. Religious authority figures give you moral guidance and rules about what is right and wrong. Another type of authority is educational authority. These people try to educate you but they can also punish you if you are doing something inappropriate. You can be just reprimanded, suspended or even expelled.
