Mongol Expansion

After the Mongols began a mass migration to find food in 1000 B.C.E., they proceeded to conquer an empire wider than that of Alexander the Great, expanding over large parts of Russia, Poland, Palestine, and Japan (before Genghis Khan's time), and then China from 1200 to 1300 C.E. Mongol power was able to amass such a huge land empire in a short period of time due to many reasons. These reasons include, but are not limited to, their nomadic and barbaric ways (which ties in with their sudden need for food and trade), their military strength and strategy, and their great tacticians and leaders.
