Heinrich Schliemann
Heinrich Schliemann was born on January 6, 1822. His parents were Ernst and Sophie. They lived in the small town Neu Bukow, Germany. Heinrich first got interested in Troy when his father gave him a book about Troy at Christmas 1832. (Heinrich Schliemann, February 15, 2002. www.anthro.com)
Shortly after Christmas his mother died when Heinrich was only nine. His dad nearly went mad when she died. Since Heinrich's dad was unstable Heinrich had to go live with his uncle for a year. After the year he moved back with his dad. Heinrich was a promising student and he did well in all his classes.
Even thou Heinrich was doing great at school he had to be taken out of private school and put into a public one because his dad got caught embezzling church funds. Heinrich's dad and him were very poor at this time so Heinrich left home and went...
