Why Peter Was the First Pope of the Roman Catholic Church

Summary: Describes why Peter was the first Pope of the Roman Catholic Church.

I think Peter made a good first leader of the Catholic Church or first pope because I think he loved Jesus the most. It may just be a small thing but I noticed it. In the reading you had us just read it says that when the apostles knew it was Jesus Peter jumped out of the boat into the cold water and ran to Jesus. The other ten decibels drove the boat in from the shore getting there after Peter.

Peter was loyal, faithful, and protective of Jesus. When the guards tried to take Jesus away to have him sentenced to death and crucified Peter would not allow it. He actually cut of the guards that was going to take Jesus away's ear off with his sword. Jesus knew Peter was going to be a great first leader of the Catholic Church. He obviously did a great job because now Christianity is the most popular religion in the world. And that is why Peter was the first leader of the Catholic Church.
