In Some Prefer Nettles, Kaname and his wife are more concerned about how society views their relationship than how they really feel. Having a great image means a lot to people and they would do pretty much anything to achieve that goal. Being well known is an accomplishment in any society, as well as being respected. People go their whole life trying to pursue happiness, and with many people; popularity and a social standpoint is crucial. Kaname and Misako were relentless on keeping their image alive, but by doing this they were putting there child in a bad position. Having Hiroshi not know what was going on, was a bad move by his parents. When children are unaware of things like that it could be good, but for the most part it's terrible.
