Santo Domingo is the capital of the Dominican Republic and is a very well known for its' many attractions. It is a very historic city and has been in existence ever since Christopher Columbus reached the north coast of the island on his first voyage to the "New World" in 1492 and gave it its name which means "Little Spain." Santo Domingo is 1,557 square miles long and has 7,293,390 people living in the city. The climate in Santo Domingo is usually tropical and sunny with a rainy season from September-October. The temperature in December is cool and is nice and refreshing after the very hot summer. Overall, the weather is very nice for those in Santo Domingo
