Analysis of the Poison in "Hamlet"

Summary: Analisis of the concept of how poison works in "Hamlet" on two levels, physical and spritual.
In Shakespeare's famous play, The tragedy of Hamlet, the young prince of Denmark is poisoned physically and spiritually by his lives unfortunate events. His fathers untimely death, his mothers impetuous marriage, and his obligation to revenge his fathers sinful murder seems to "poison" his body,mind, and sprit with every falling moon and rising sun.

To the young eyes of Hamlet the entire world seems "weary, stale, and unprofitable." Throughout the beginning scenes of the play the deadly "poison" that plaques the young prince begins to slowly work its way through his spritual well being. Hamlet repeatively ask for "deaths sweet hand" to show mercy on him by allowing him to take his own life. For example Hamlet recites "O, that this too sullied flesh would melt, Thaw,and resolve itself into a dew..His cannon 'gainst self slaughter! O God, God" This displays that Hamlets spritutal loyalty...
