Summary: This is an essay against the No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB).
A senator, The No Child Left Behind Act or the NCLB, has done the complete opposite of its intention. The statement of purpose in the No Child Left Behind Act claims that it is intended to ensure that all children reach ` challenging' standards in reading and math and to close the academic achievement gap that exists by race and class. However, if the law were designed to make sufficient progress towards this goal, educators all over America would support it. But, the truth is that many educators do not support No Child Left Behind because under the NCLB Americas education will be seriously damaged; especially in schools with large populations of low income and minority students.
