Summary: The following presents an argument to keep the second amendment.
A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.

This statement seems to be pretty clear and shouldn't have that many interpretations. Sure some people take it to mean that only people in a regulated militia should have weapons and that the need for a militia is unnecessary. Others say the right to bear arms is today unnecessary, but both are untrue.

There are many bad people out there who have guns and abuse the way they use them. However these people are generally criminals and any gun law passed would not affect them at all. They would either find other ways of getting firearms, or if a complete ban was made they would make unsafe homemade versions of their own.
