Summary of "The Phantom"

Summary: Essay provides a summary of "The Phantom."
A plot can usually be divided into four parts: the original situation, the complications, the climax, and the denouement. The original situation in Phantoms is, Jennifer Paige is headed home to Snowfield, California with her sister, Lisa. Jennifer is Lisa's guardian after their mother's death. When Jenny and Lisa arrive, nothing is happening and there are no people in the streets or buildings. At Jenny's house, no one answers when she enters. Jenny goes into the kitchen and finds the housekeeper dead, lying on the floor. When she tries to use the telephone, she cannot get a dial tone. The next scene is at the county sheriff's station. Sheriff Bryce Hammond is questioning Fletcher Kale and Kale falls apart. He will be charged with the murders. This scene provides the reader with the personality of Hammond.
