The American lifestyle has changed tremendously. During the 1950's a 4 year witch hunt took place. A man named Joseph McCarthy accused over 200 people of being communists. Since the Cold War many Americans were afraid of communists. So, when McCarthy was making these false accusations, America was left in an uproar. McCarthy went too far though, when he accused the United States Army of being communists. He was left known as an embarrassment and the witch hunt ended. The early 1950's also became a time when blacks were considered people to whites. Laws were created that said that all states must educate blacks.
