American Foreign Policy
Summary: Discusses American Foreign Policy starting in WWI to the present, shows the progression from isolationists, to interventionists.
The horror and bloodshed of W.W.I was enough to scare the American public into a state of isolationism; afraid to enter another war that was not its own ever again. When Woodrow Wilson returned with the League of Nations proposal, it was hastily rejected by congress in fear that it would drag America into another foreign conflict. This refusal of interventionism was quickly followed by the support of the American people and many radical social groups. America's refusal to participate in the worlds affairs led to the fear of war in many other countries, including those that signed the League of Nations treaty. This led to a decade of "unchecked aggression" from many foreign nations that ultimately led to W.W.II.
