The main character, Huckleberry Finn is an interesting character because of his cleverness and free spirit. Two major themes in this novel are Honor and Childhood. These themes should be completely understood in order to achieve a true understanding of the novel. The importance of Huck's youth is that it represents a sense of open-mindedness. The themes of honor and childhood permeate throughout the novel, and by understanding the importance of these themes the actions of the characters in the novel will be better understood.
