A Play of Two Speeches
Summary: Essay discusses the play of "Julius Caesar" by William Shakespeare.
There happens to be a play that certain English classes read, a tragedy of
a play. This play is called " The Tragedy of Julius Caesar." This play consists of a ruler, a murder, and two speeches about them. These speeches are a good argumentative topic for an essay because of the fact that they try to prove two completely opposite points and therefore are different.
In this play there are two speeches, one by Brutus, the murderer, and one by Antony, friend of Caesar. Brutus' speech has a certain purpose, which is to explain to the crowd his intentions for killing their beloved ruler Caesar. In his speech he said, "I honor him; but as he was ambitious, I slew him." So, to me, Brutus' reason for killing Caesar was that he thought Caesar was getting too powerful.
