Spain, a beautiful majestic land, is known for being an economic super power of the 16th and 17th centuries. Some of the world-renowned masterpieces of architecture are located in Spain. The architecture there is greatly influenced by the Roman Catholic and Moorish religions. Throughout southern Spain you find churches and courtyards reminiscent of their Moorish background yet other churches are highly ornate to show the power of the Catholic Church. Some of the most beautiful buildings are creations of a famous architect by the name of Antoni Gaudi y Cornet. Antoni Gaudi, and his spectacular designs, will forever influence the architecture of Spain.
