Since the beginning of Rock and Roll music's brief history, there has been a great amount of controversy over the message it is sending to the youth of America. At the introduction of this music, it was not so much the lyrics as it was the "barefaced sexuality" that was being displayed on television. This consisted of Elvis "shaking and gyrating" his hips; A far cry from today's vulgar displays of sexuality on "family television" and the offensive language used in most songs as of late.
The sexuality and vulgarity found in the lyrics of almost every rock song has become a corner stone for today's culture. However, the medium for which these songs are broadcast to people is limited in how it can censor itself to the younger viewers.
