Resistance Efforts in the Holocaust
Summary: The resistance efforts during the Holocaust. Stories of about 10 people that saved thousands of Jews lives from the Nazis.
Six million Jews died during the Holocaust. Despite the number of Jews that were killed thousands were saved by men and women in Europe. The Holocaust lasted from 1938-1945, during World War II. These heros used many ways of saving the Jews from Adolf Hitler and the Nazis. Some of these methods are: hiding Jews in their houses; adopting the children; giving the Jews different identities; smuggling the Jews out of Europe; and by giving them legal documents that protected them from being deported. Some of the unsung heros of the Holocaust are: Raoul Wallenberg, Oskar Schindler, Varian Fry, Sempo Sugihara, Marion van Binsbergen Pritchard, and Andrew Sheptitsky.
Raoul Wallenberg was a Swedish diplomat who gave out passports to protect thousands of Jews in Budapest. Raoul Wallenberg was more dedicated than issuing paperwork, he risked his life many times by snatching Jews literally from German and Hungarian officials...
