Theme of the Seeing Stone
Summary: Essay discusses the theme of Kevin Crossley-Holland's "Arthur: The Seeing Stone."
Kevin Crossley-Holland's "Arthur: The Seeing Stone" has many themes buried in it. One of the themes that I have dug up is "Be true to yourself no matter what." This theme is illustrated in many of Arthur's actions throughout the novel.
These themes in this novel were very hard to discern because it is narrated in first person, but with a twist. It is written like a journal, which makes it a little harder to figure out what point the author is trying to get across. Arthur sticks to this theme, "Be true to yourself no matter what" throughout the novel. In one instance, Arthur and his brother Serle have found out that the two bulls have gotten into the same pen. As they rush to see, they notice that only Arthur's friend, Gatty a small peasant girl, is in between them. Arthur rushes to help her, but...
