Summary: About how Europeans came to Africa and took over most of the continent.
Africa consisted of many powerful empires between 1000 1500, before the European's arrived. The continent of Africa contained many exclusive natural resources such as gold and salt. These natural resources helped these African empires thrive. These natural resources grew attention from the European's. This led to the invasion of Africa from foreign invaders.
The African emperors ruled their empires very well. They controlled everything. A prime example of this was Ghana. He controlled the government from the center. Ghana controlled the land and he maintained a safe trading area using military force. These protective trade routes helped Ghana import and export goods to other empires. This caused the economies of these empires to grow and the empires thrived. (Document 3)
