The first people that come into my mind when I think of ordinary people doing extraordinary things are the ANZACs, because each and every one of them were just ordinary run-of-the-mill Australians who fought in the First World War to help our country. One of the more illustrious ANZACs is John Simpson Kirkpatrick, who is more famously known as the "Man with the Donkey." Simpson was a courageous and heroic soldier who saved many hundreds of mens' lives, yet he still had time to be a typical larrikin who could always make people smile. The ANZAC spirit is still present in Australians today, with many other ordinary people doing great things.
