Odysseus Character Analysis
Summary: Essay provides a character analysis of Odysseus.
The Odyssey is an epic poem with the main character being a "hero" named Odysseus. In several dissimilar situations, he shows qualities of intelligence, strength, and bravery. Odysseus relied on his intelligence to get out of risky situations to construct a plan to get out of trouble. His bravery is evident when he goes into the cave with Cyclops. He uses his implausible strength to string to the bow.
Odysseus expresses his strength when ."..he draws between his thumb and forefinger a sweet new string upon a peg: so effortlessly Odysseus in one motion strung the bow." ("Book 21, the Test of the Bow, lines 201 - 203.") He just strings the bow like it was as easy as picking up a newspaper.
