Made essentially out of the common earth elements of silicon and copper, this tiny piece of composite metal is able to carry out calculations at the speed of light. It has been said that at the current rate of research and development in the area of the computer chip, if the same had been applied to cars or food, by now we would theoretically have free food or free cars for every single person on the planet. Mind-blowing, to say the least, but technology shapes the lives of people all around the world in so many ways, but the work of the chip has gone unrecognized.
