Summary: An exploration into how everyday life in Britain was affected by the Blitz.
The Blitz lasted from the 7th of September until the summer of 1941. Hundreds of tonnes of bombs were dropped on London and other cities during each raid. Some of the ways that life was affected were the destruction of property, air raid precautions and blackouts, evacuation, rationing, and finding shelter.

The bombing in Britain disrupted many people's lives because hundreds of thousands of people were left without homes or places to work; shops were destroyed so people had to travel further to find a place to buy food, drink, and other essentials. Two million houses were destroyed by the air raids. Over sixty thousand civilians were killed or injured during the Blitz, and the friends and families had to cope with the loss of loved ones, while looking after themselves and their family.
