Being Short and Weak in a World of Athletes Taller and Stronger Than Me
Summary: This essay is about my struggles as an athlete to become better in the world of sports.
The physical drawback of shortness and strength, or the lack thereof brings about a need, or a great desire, rather that draws a person to succeed in aspects of life pertaining to that shortness and weakness. In physical sports, such as football or basketball, the need to be big, tall, and strong, although these are not always required or necessary, may lead to an athlete's success. So, in this way, a disadvantage in physical size brings about a stronger advantage mentally to such a person.
I am short. I stand 5'7" tall and can bench one hundred and fifty-five pounds. I carry the burden of my shortness and lack of strength. This affects greatly, but is not limited to, sports, especially football and basketball. My success can be hindered in these sports because of my height and weakness.
