Newtons Laws of Motion
Summary: An essay that explains how Newton's three laws are used to explain car accidents.
Tragedy strikes, accidents occur, cars crash, people get hurt, and all these catastrophic events can be explained by Newton's three laws of motion. The first law, inertia, deals with the cars path, a human body's trajectory, and the organs of a person. The second law, F=ma, is the equation of force equals mass times acceleration. The last law, action and reaction, relates to the instant effect of the force. When the clay dummies were driven into the wall the 3 laws became apparent.
Inertia, the tendency of matter to remain at rest if at rest or to remain in motion in a straight line if in motion, is what causes the fatal drama in car accidents. When a car hits something, an unrestrained passenger would keep moving in the path that the body would move it if the car was still moving. The only thing that would stop...
