Disney's Hercules Compared to the Myth
Summary: This essay compares the original Hercules from myths to the Disney's Film "Hercules."
Disney's Hercules is the story of the Greek hero, Hercules, and his quest to become a true hero. When he was a baby, Hades, the God of the underworld, ordered him to be killed. The plans fail and Hercules arrives on Earth. He than finds out that he is a god and learns to be a hero. He defeats Hades, saves the world, gets the girl, and joins the gods. The film is packed with songs, comedy, and action.
Hercules is regarded as Greece's most famous hero because of his superior strength and heroic deeds he has done. Because of his popular status as the greatest hero, Disney has chosen, Hercules out of all the heroes. But, Disney's version of Hercules is different than the other stories of the hero.
