How much money does the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) makes off television contracts in one year? It is hard to believe, but actually, the NCAA makes more money than any other single sports league. One of the reasons for this may be that the student athlete's do not have to focus as much on school because they are getting through college because of the sport, not their grades. It is so important for the schools to make money that they often to become more worried about winning the event than looking out for the athlete's safety. Although sports are a major part of society, intercollegiate athletics corrupt educational institutions by creating double standards and wasting precious scholarship money in favor of athletic competition.
