Summary: Provides a detailed chapter-by-chapter summary of The Car, by Gary Paulsen.
Chapter I: Terry Anders is a fourteen year old kid living in Cleveland, Ohio with his two parents. Both his mother and father ignore him and don't really care what happens to him, though they fight with each other never interrupted Terry. One night both his father and mother never come home from work and call the next day each saying they weren't coming back.

Chapter II: When Terry's wandering around one night he looks into the garage and thinks about the car. The car was a kit car, originally owned by one of his father's client's who didn't have money to pay him for his work. Terry had never been allowed to work on it for his father had forbidden him to. That night Terry goes through all the boxes and looks at all the parts, only recognizing a few.
