Fox chose to take the challenge he was faced with, and in turn, help other people with the same problem.
Michael J. Fox was born in 1961 in Edmonton, Alberta. He grew up as the child of a military man, moving around quite a lot. Michael dreamed of a career in the NHL; however as a teenager he began experimenting with creative writing and art, leading him to acting. In 1982, Michael received his first major role, which he played for 7 years. Then in 1996, he began the television series Spin City, in which he acted until he retired in 2000 because of Parkinson's disease.
