Growing up in the small town of Martinsville, IN, I was often subjected to accusations of racism. Martinsville's reputation of being racist is no secret to the state or even the country. Racism in Martinsville was established way back in the 1800's. The KKK was huge in the 1920's. Many Martinsville residents were involved in the KKK. The Klan was powerful and brought many new people into it, because it promoted " One Hundred Percent Americanism." People thought it was the answer to end democracy worldwide. Martinsville's involvement in the Klan was no more or less important than a lot of other southern communities, but why does Martinsville take most of the blame. Martinsville is known for being the headquarters of the KKK. There has been instances of racism today in Martinsville as well as other towns, but why do people pursue Martinsville as the headquarters to it all...
