Seattle's Changing Geography

I picked Seattle to do my physical geography paper on. I do not live in Seattle, but I still consider it to be my home town. Seattle's geography is ever changing. Seattle has been reinvented many times over; since the first home steaders came here. Because of climate, bodies of water, people, natural disasters, and even fire Seattle geography is very unique.
The mountain ranges to the east and west of Seattle are the Cascade Mountains and the Olympic Range. All of the water ways and channels of the Pacific Ocean were carved by the reseeding glaciers 15,000 years ago. Seattle used to be covered in forests. Today, the areas of Seattle that still are home for small forests are very dense. The forests here are thick and mossy. The most common tree to our area is the Douglas fir, which can grow to an astounding 300 feet.
