The main characters Kate and Petruchio seem alike throughout the play, both shrew-like in their qualities, but one stays the same and the other eventually changes to the complete opposite. Kate and Petruchio are actually different because both of their styles of wit are different, their feelings toward marriage are different, and how they feel about the "taming of the shrew" throughout the play is different.
