Around the world there is a crime being committed that no one really knows about except for some of the ladies who are present here. This crime has and is affecting women physically, psychologically and sexually as well. Deprivation of basic human rights is being lost by this heinous act. 135 million women have already been violated and another 200 million, averaging about 6,ooo females a day are at risk each year who can potentially end up abused (Amnesty). What crime can be affecting so many women you ask? What have most of you been forced to go through? Female genital mutilation. It is being inflicted upon women of all ages without their willingness and I feel that it needs to come to an end, but this can only occur when you take the first step to abolish it.
