The Ford Model `T' changed America. Henry Ford created many things that changed the automobile and the way of living in the 1920's. Some of those things are mass production, automated assembly lines, and low prices for cars so everyone with a decent income could afford one.
Henry Ford was very interested in cars living near Detroit, Michigan so he built cars. His first car built in 1896 was not successful. In 1908, he built the Model `T'. He sold over 15 million in just 19 years, from 1908 to 1927. The Model `T' was cheap and low maintenance. Running cost was originally $895, but it went down to $290 eventually because so many were sold. The Model `T' also changed wages in America. Henry Ford gave his employees $5 a day, which was double the running wage at the time.
