His wife was a little older than he was, as research shows she was of child-bearing age. During his short life as a pharaoh he had a happy marriage. King Tut and his wife had no children. He died when he was around eighteen or nineteen years old.
King Tutankhamen may have spent his younger years in Amarna. It is thought that maybe King Tut's mother died during child-birth. His father Akhenaten ruled Egypt and established a new religion based around the worship of just one god (monotheism) represented by the Aten or sun disk.
