Retribution is the first novel of Jilliane Hoffman. After being published in January 2004 it has soon got into top three best sellers in USA and top 10 in Europe after being translated to German. This more than 450 pages long, three act, graphic serial killer/courtroom thriller puts its readers in a situation of choice between justice and retribution in its hardest form. While containing multiple rape and cruelty scenes this book is written on a rather low sex/violence level and hardly contains any details about sexual intercourse or other issues of this type. Nevertheless it keeps the tension until the very climax of the book.
