The Withered Arm is about Rhoda Brook who has a dream about his husband's (Farmer Lodge's) new young wife, Gertrude, in which she is evil and Rhoda hurts her arm. The dream became real and Gertrude had a hurt arm, she was trying everything to cure it, but she couldn't find a cure. Then she went to Conjuror Trendle who told her a cure, which was to touch her arm to a hanged man's neck. She went to county jail where when she touched her arm to someone's neck, her blood had begun to change. Then Rhoda and Farmer Lodge came and she realised the man was actually their son, who died because of something he hadn't done. Gertrude died after her she tried the cure. A while after that, Farmer Lodge gave up his farm...
