My Past Defines Who I Am
Summary: A personal essay describing childhood, family, and siblings. Describes the experience of moving from England to Belgium. Also discusses how being a Muslim has defined the author's personality.
Someone's past can be defined as many things. It can be their childhood or their parent's life; it can be their culture or race, or where they were raised. But do all these things define who you are? I mainly disagree, but I partially agree too.
My childhood has influenced me a lot. As a child I used to take the train to school with my older brother. I learnt the London train system very well and by the time I was ten, I knew how to go anywhere in London. This made me more independent. I didn't have to rely on my parents to take me places as I was able to go to them myself.
